Fundraising (May 08)

FUNDRAISING REPORT

P&C MEETING 14/5/08

Arrangements are in full swing for the cent sale set down for next Sunday. Over 120

letters have been delivered to businesses by Lisa and myself and response has been fairly

disappointing. Whilst we have had some good donations, overall they are down on last

year and I guess this can be attributed to the flood earlier in the year. Donations from

school families have also been fairly slow. Again, whilst we are appreciative of the

generous donations from some families, there are 3 classes (all from the upper school)

who have not donated a single thing and a further 15 classes who have donated less than

15 items. This is out of a total of 26 classes in the school. 4A have been generous with

82 items being brought in followed by 4C and 2/3 with 46 and 45 respectively. Julianne

went around to some classrooms yesterday reminding students and teachers to bring

items in.

At this stage we are currently sorting out the prizes and are unsure of the exact number

that we will have. A rough guess would be 75 plus approx. 30 items for the

special/dearer table. We desperately need more items. There are a few parents who have

indicated they will be bringing in items later this week or early next week.

I will put out another note later this week reminding everyone of the cent sale and that

items can be brought in up until next Thursday. We currently have 3 parents who have

indicated that they are willing to help arrange and a further 4 that can help on the day

itself. Who on the P & C are attending and are able to assist on the day?????

In addition to the cent sale, we are having a refreshment stall selling chips, soft drink,

coffee, tea, sandwiches and cake. We are also having a lucky door prize of a Childs

wheelbarrow filled with an assortment of goodies; $2/ticket raffle of a 2008 signed NRL

Jersey from the Gold Coast Titans (kindly donated by the Barber family). And 2 x $1 a

ticket snap raffle with prizes of a $60 John Carroll Retravision voucher and some

Tupperware products donated by Stacey Brazil.

Term 3 fundraiser will be the Rock and Roll Night. As previously advised we cannot

secure the Night Owls for any of the 3 dates that were discussed. I have booked Keith

Ogilvie from HOT HOT HOT (3 piece band) to perform from 6 – 9pm, cost $500. Date

of function is to be Friday 29

end of term.

The only other fundraiser is obviously the Xmas Fair on Friday the 21

previously advised we are going to start working towards organization of the fair from

July onwards.

Thank you

Linda Keates and Lisa Rapley
